Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, was the star of the show on Wednesday night, scoring a brace to help Galatasaray clinch their 19th Turkish Cup title with a dominant 3-0 win over Trabzonspor in the Ziraat Turkish Cup final.

The final, played at the Kalyon Stadium in Gaziantep, saw Galatasaray take charge early through Baris Alper Yilmaz, who netted in the 5th minute.

The Istanbul giants maintained their momentum after the break, with Osimhen striking twice, first in the 46th minute and again in the 63rd, both goals assisted by Yunus Akgun.

It was the Nigeria international’s first major silverware with the Yellow and Reds.

Galatasaray last lifted the Turkish Cup during the 2018/19 campaign, making this their first triumph in five years.

Baris Yilmaz wasted no time giving his side the lead, converting just five minutes into the game.

Osimhen made it 2-0 immediately after halftime, finishing off a precise pass from Akgun.

The duo combined once more just past the hour mark, with Akgun again providing the assist for Osimhen to wrap up the scoring.

Osimhen scored four goals and provided one assist in the Turkish Cup this season.

Trabzonspor, despite moments of promise, found it difficult to penetrate Galatasaray’s solid defense. Akgun, meanwhile, was instrumental throughout, notching assists for all three goals.

Yunus Akgun played a pivotal role, assisting all three goals.

The win not only underlines Galatasaray’s pedigree in Turkish football but also edges them closer to a potential domestic double, as they prepare to face Kayserispor at RAMS Park on Sunday in their bid for a third consecutive Turkish Super Lig crown.
