Super Eagles stars, Raphael Onyedika and Tolu Arokodare, featured as Club Brugge began their Belgian league campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Genk on Sunday.
Onyedika was named in Brugge’s starting eleven and played until the 90th minute, while Arokodare entered the fray for Genk with 20 minutes to go.
Genk took the lead early through Oh Hyeon-gyu, who found the back of the net just nine minutes into the encounter.
But Brugge responded in the 62nd minute when Joel Ordonez scored the equaliser.
Brugge then turned the game around, with Brandon Mechele netting the decisive goal in the 81st minute.
Late drama unfolded as Ordonez, who had earlier levelled the score, was sent off in the 93rd minute after receiving a straight red card.
Despite being a man down, the hosts held firm to claim victory in their opening match of the season.
The result sees Club Brugge sitting in fourth place, while Genk find themselves in 13th in the 16-team table.
