Okpebholo appoints Fred Itua as spokesperson

Edo State Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Fred Itua as his Chief Press Secretary, marking the first official appointment as Okpebholo prepares to take office.

 

Itua’s appointment comes ahead of Okpebholo’s inauguration on Tuesday, when he will assume leadership from outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki.

 

Fred Itua, a seasoned journalist, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked with Leadership and The Sun newspapers. He will oversee the media and communication strategies for Okpebholo’s administration.

 

An accomplished professional, Itua holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and a Master’s degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja. He is also nearing the completion of his PhD in Development Communication at Veritas University, Abuja.

 

Throughout his journalism career, Itua has covered the National Assembly and specialized in topics such as migration, health, anti-corruption, and environmental reporting, equipping him with a broad perspective for his new role.

 

Known for his dedication to ongoing learning and cultural collaboration, Itua is expected to lead Okpebholo’s media team with an adaptable and innovative approach.
