The Ogun State House of Assembly has confirmed the nominees for the State Universal Basic Education Board submitted by Governor Dapo Abiodun, paving the way for their formal swearing-in.

The confirmation was made during the Assembly’s plenary session held on Thursday in Abeokuta, following the adoption of the screening report presented by the House Committee on Education.

The approved nominees are Ifede Joshua, Barrister Femi Odufowokan, Isiaka Aderounmu, Akeem Balogun, Mrs. Kemi Adeogun, Wale Adeogun, Waheed Ogundele, Stephen Kolawole Odusanya, and Moroof Paramole.

Presenting the committee’s findings, the Majority Leader, Hon. Yusuf Sherrif, stated that the nominees were thoroughly assessed, and their qualifications and responses during the screening process proved them capable and worthy of the positions.

“After careful evaluation, the committee found all nominees competent and committed to advancing the goals of basic education in Ogun State,” Sherrif said.

The report was adopted following a motion moved by the Minority Leader, Hon. Lukman Adeleye, and subsequently approved by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide.

While commending the governor’s choice of nominees, Speaker Elemide urged them to serve with honesty and diligence once inaugurated.

“We expect the new board members, when sworn in, to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and a strong commitment to the development of basic education across the state,” Elemide said.
