Obasanjo, Shettima, Saraki attend Kwankwaso’s daughter wedding in Kano

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was in Kano on Saturday to attend the wedding of Aisha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the daughter of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party.

The wedding ceremony, which started at 11am, is taking place at the Kofar Kudu Palace of Emir of Kano, Khalifa Dr. Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Upon his arrival at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Obasanjo was received by Senator Kwankwaso and the governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The former president was seen wearing a red cap as part of the traditional welcome.

Also arriving in Kano for the event were former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Saraki confirmed his arrival via his X handle, stating that he had come to witness the wedding between the children of his close friends, Senator Kwankwaso and Alhaji Dahiru Mangal.

Saraki wrote: “A little while ago, I arrived in Kano ahead of the Wedding Fatiha between the children of my dear friends, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and Alhaji Dahiru Mangal.”
