The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, has urged members of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II to approach the future with innovation, confidence, and a deep commitment to national development.
As thousands of corps members nationwide conclude their one-year mandatory service, Nafiu commended them for their dedication and resilience throughout their deployment, which involved various nation-building projects, community development initiatives, and primary assignments.
In a congratulatory message shared via the NYSC’s official X handle on Thursday, Nafiu applauded the passing-out members for their service and encouraged them to carry forward the values of the scheme into their future endeavors.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members as they celebrate the successful completion of their mandatory service year,” the DG stated. “Your hard work and commitment to building a new Nigeria have not gone unnoticed.”
He continued, “As you step into the next chapter of your lives, I urge you to rise to the occasion and become the leaders our nation needs. Be open to change, lead with confidence, and bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table.”
Nafiu reminded the corps members that they are ambassadors of the NYSC, and their future actions should reflect the values and vision of the scheme.
“Go forth and represent the NYSC as its proud ambassadors,” he concluded.
The NYSC scheme, established in 1973, continues to promote unity, foster national integration, and provide young graduates with a platform for personal and professional growth through service to the nation.
