Trabzonspor will be without star forward, Anthony Nwakaeme, for approximately two months after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The Nigerian attacker suffered the setback during Trabzonspor’s 1-0 victory over Kocaelispor on Monday night, forcing his exit in the 84th minute as Arif Bosluk came on in his place.

Nwakaeme, 36, had started the game alongside fellow Nigerian Paul Onuachu, who ultimately netted the decisive goal in the tightly contested clash.

According to the club’s official statement, medical examinations revealed a tear, bleeding, and extensive swelling in the posterior muscle and tendon of Nwakaeme’s left thigh.
“Our football player Anthony Nwakaeme, who was injured in the match against Kocaelispor in the first week of the Trendyol Super League, was examined and an MRI scan was performed on him, revealing a tear, bleeding, and widespread edema in the posterior muscle and tendon of his left thigh. Our medical team has begun treatment for our player,” the statement read on club’s official website.
