Nottingham Forest boosted their chances of securing Champions League qualification with a crucial 2-1 victory over West Ham United in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
Goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nikola Milenkovic ensured Forest stayed within striking distance of the top five.
Currently sitting seventh on the table with 65 points from 37 matches, Forest are just one point behind the trio occupying third to fifth place.
They are now level on points with Manchester City and will round off their season at home against fourth-placed Chelsea next Sunday.
Gibbs-White gave the visitors an early lead in the 11th minute, capitalizing on a poor pass from West Ham keeper Alphonse Areola to slot the ball into an open goal.
Forest continued to apply pressure and were rewarded in the second half when Anthony Elanga’s free-kick ricocheted off Milenkovic and into the net.
Although Jarrod Bowen pulled one back for West Ham with a powerful strike late on, the hosts, sitting 15th with 40 points, couldn’t find an equalizer.
