Crystal Palace have finalized the loan signing of Nigerian international Christantus Uche from La Liga side Getafe.

The 22-year-old will don the No. 12 jersey for the Eagles in South London.

“Everyone at Palace would like to welcome Christantus to South London and wish him the very best for his career in red and blue,” the club stated in an official announcement.

Uche, who has already represented Nigeria at senior level, impressed during his only season in Spain. He first arrived in Europe with Spanish fifth-division side Moralo CP in 2022 before moving to third-tier AD Ceuta FC, where his talent quickly caught attention.

Ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, Uche joined Getafe, making 38 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing seven assists.

He becomes Palace’s fifth signing of the summer following Walter Benítez, Borna Sosa, Yeremy Pino, and Jaydee Canvot.

Palace Chairman Steve Parish commented on the move, saying, “I’m delighted to welcome Christantus to the club – an exciting young talent, who is also a full international. Christantus has already shown his capability during his time in Spain and everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing him thrive in South London.”

Uche also shared his excitement about the transfer: “This moment is unbelievable. I’m very lucky to be here today and this club is a big opportunity for me.”

His deadline-day move places him alongside other Nigerians who recently completed transfers, including Tolu Arokodare (Wolves), Samuel Chukwueze (Fulham), Victor Boniface (Werder Bremen), and Cyriel Dessers (Panathinaikos).
