The Economic Community of West African States Parliament has received Nigeria’s country report, presented by the deputy Senate president, Senator Barau Jibrin.

The report provides an overview of Nigeria’s progress and challenges in various spheres.

According to the report, Nigeria has achieved political stability under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inclusive government, with active engagement of stakeholders in decision-making processes.

The country is also enhancing its security capacity, collaborating with regional and international partners to prevent youth recruitment into harmful groups, according to Nigerian Tribune.

In terms of economic development, Nigeria is diversifying its economy, investing in infrastructure, and attracting foreign investment.

Despite global challenges, the economy is projected to grow by 3.76% in 2024.

However, the report acknowledges human rights challenges, including gender inequality, discrimination, and access to justice.

The government is addressing these issues through legal reforms, awareness campaigns, and educational programs.

Nigeria has met its financial obligations to ECOWAS and is committed to regional integration, collaborating with member states to foster a more prosperous and inclusive society for all citizens.
