#NigeriaDecides2023: INEC orders re-run in some Edo polling units

The Independent National Electoral Commission has given directive on a re-election for House of Representatives at Ugo and Evboesi and some other units in Orhionmwon and Uhunwunde Local Government Areas of Edo.

 

The Collation Officer, Prof. Joseph Osemwenkhae, stressed that the order for re-election had become necessary because of the scheduled elections that could not hold in those units as a result of some logistics hitches.

 

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that re-election is scheduled for March 11.

 

NAN also disclosed that election did not hold in the two wards in Ugo village as well as two polling units at Evboesi village in Orhionmwon.

 

It was gathered that some units were also affected in some other parts in Orhionmwon and 11 units in Uhunwonde council area.

 

The collation officer, meanwhile, disclosed the following results for House of Representatives:

 

Uhunmwonde:

Labour Party – 6778

APC – 4577

PDP – 3959

 

Orhionmwon:

Labour Party – 6414

APC – 7780

PDP – 6249

 

Total number of votes scored by the parties:

 

Labour Party – 13,192

APC – 12,357

PDP – 10,208
