The Nigeria Football Federation has officially confirmed the appointment of Manu Garba as the new head coach of the Golden Eaglets.
This decision comes after a recommendation by the NFF’s technical committee and marks Garba’s fourth stint at the helm of the national U-17 team. Notably, Garba guided the Golden Eaglets to global glory at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in the United Arab Emirates.
In another key move, the NFF executive committee has also endorsed Moses Aduku as the new head coach of the Falconets, replacing Chris Danjuma.
Aduku, who steered Edo Queens to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title two seasons ago, brings experience to the role.
He was also part of the Falconets’ coaching setup as an assistant during their campaign at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, where the team reached the quarter-finals.
Both coaches are scheduled to officially assume duties on Sunday, ahead of important fixtures lined up for their respective teams.
The Falconets are gearing up for their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash against Rwanda in September, while the Golden Eaglets will be participating in the WAFU B U-17 Boys Tournament, which Nigeria is set to host during the same period.
