Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi, has expressed delight with his debut outing for Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas, while also calming concerns about an injury scare.

The midfielder featured from the start in Besiktas’ hard-fought 2-1 win over Eyupspor on Sunday night.

Amazing Atmosphere

Ndidi described the feeling of playing in front of the Besiktas faithful as unforgettable.

“The atmosphere was great. The support from our fans was fantastic. When the score was 1-1, we showed real team spirit and their backing pushed us to fight for the second goal. It was a great day, we feel fantastic,” he told Milliyet.

Injury Concern

The 28-year-old was substituted in the 70th minute for Demir Tiknaz after appearing to pick up a knock, but he was quick to dismiss any fears.

“It’s not a serious situation. It was just a cramp during the match,” he clarified.

“I was expecting it around the 60-70 minute mark. These kinds of things can happen in the first games of the season, but it’s nothing serious.”

Appreciation for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Ndidi also reserved praise for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, noting that the coach’s tactics and the quality of his teammates made his job smoother.

“I know what our coach wants from me. The quality of the players ahead of me made my job easier. We were able to push forward and apply pressure in attack. Once we executed the coach’s plan, things improved for us,” the Nigerian international added.
