The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has called for the prosecution of veteran Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate, following an incident aboard a ValueJet flight that reportedly disrupted standard aviation protocols.
In a formal petition addressed to the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police, the NCAA requested a comprehensive investigation into K1’s alleged conduct during a ValueJet VK201 flight on Tuesday.
The agency maintained that the incident potentially violated the 2023 Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations.
“The Authority is committed to maintaining the highest safety standards, and no individual, regardless of status, is above aviation laws,” NCAA stated.
Signed by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo, the petition urged the relevant authorities to initiate legal proceedings in line with existing aviation laws.
In a separate move to reinforce passenger discipline and uphold operational safety, the NCAA has also issued an advisory to the Airline Operators of Nigeria, recommending that the musician be temporarily placed on a No-Fly List for all commercial flights until investigations are concluded.
“This advisory aligns with international aviation protocols aimed at safeguarding passengers, crew, and overall flight operations,” the NCAA added.
The statement emphasized the agency’s zero-tolerance policy for behavior that could compromise flight safety.
“Passenger behavior that threatens the integrity of aviation operations will not be condoned. Safety and order within Nigeria’s airspace are non-negotiable,” the statement further read.
The aviation regulatory body reiterated its resolve to ensure compliance and discipline within the sector, regardless of individuals’ celebrity status or public image.
