Nigeria’s national power grid has collapsed again, marking the third incident within a week.

The latest collapse occurred on Saturday morning, as confirmed by the Nigeria National Grid via their official X (formerly Twitter) page.

In a statement shared at 8:40 a.m., the agency disclosed that all power distribution companies across the country were left without any megawatts of electricity.

The report listed several affected DisCos, including Abuja, Benin, Eko, Enugu, Ibadan, Ikeja, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Port Harcourt, and Yola, all recording 0 MW.

“Abuja DisCo – 0 MW; Benin DisCo – 0 MW; Eko DisCo – 0 MW; Enugu DisCo – 0 MW; Ibadan DisCo – 0 MW; Ikeja DisCo – 0 MW; Jos DisCo – 0 MW; Kaduna DisCo – 0 MW; Kano DisCo – 0 MW; PHarcourt DisCo – 0 MW; Yola DisCo – 0 MW,” the post read.

The expected power output is approximately 4,800 MW, making the current situation particularly alarming.

The grid previously collapsed on Monday, followed by another failure on Tuesday, amid ongoing restoration efforts.
