The naira extended its upward momentum against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange window on Thursday, closing at N1,534.52 per dollar.
Figures published on the Central Bank of Nigeria’s official website show a slight improvement from Wednesday’s rate of N1,534.83, representing a marginal gain of 0.3 on a day-to-day basis.
In the parallel market, however, the local currency maintained stability, trading at N1,565 to the dollar , the same rate as the previous day.
This comes a day after the naira recorded gains in both the official and black-market segments of the forex market.
Meanwhile, the CBN, through its spokesperson, Hakama Sidi Ali, has reiterated its warning to Nigerians against acts such as spraying, hawking, mutilating, or counterfeiting the nation’s currency.
