The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has announced a slight restructuring of its workforce, aimed at reducing redundancy and strengthening the Commission’s capacity for efficient service delivery.

In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, NAHCON’s Deputy Director and Information and Public Relations Officer, Hajiya Fatima Usara, explained that the move followed the resolutions of the Commission’s Board during its 14th sitting, held from August 26 to 27, 2025.

“Hence, in line with the Board’s resolve, the Commission’s executive arm has effected the reposting of pool officers back to their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies with immediate effect. Accordingly, the affected officers were issued letters on Sept. 4, 2025. The Board’s decision was taken primarily to eliminate redundancy and reposition the Commission for enhanced, effective and efficient service delivery,” Usara said.

The spokesperson added that the exercise was also intended to inspire staff toward higher performance.

“To support the ongoing reforms, the Board approved the promotion of some deserving officers. It also approved Capacity Building Programmes for the entire staff aimed at equipping employees with the requisite skills to achieve the organisational objectives of the Commission,” she stated.

Usara further highlighted that NAHCON’s Chairman/CEO, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, has pledged that the 5th Board would continue efforts to cultivate a resilient and capable workforce committed to fulfilling the Commission’s statutory responsibilities to Nigerian pilgrims.

“Similarly, NAHCON will continue to introduce other reforms for enhanced productivity,” she stated.
