The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed that it neutralised scores of terrorists through multiple precision airstrikes carried out between June 24 and 26, 2025, in Niger State.
The operation, part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1, was launched in response to recent attacks and cattle rustling activities in Kakihun and Kumbashi communities.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, who disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, said the air raids were executed based on credible intelligence and in synergy with ground troops and sister security agencies.
“Swiftly deploying air assets, the Air Component executed multiple waves of precision strikes that neutralised scores of terrorists, destroyed their logistics hubs, and disrupted attempts by the terrorists to regroup,” Gabkwet said.
He added that the success of the operation demonstrated the Air Force’s high level of professionalism and rapid response capability, emphasizing effective inter-service and inter-agency coordination.
“These precision strikes are a testament to our unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians,” he stated. “We remain resolute in our determination to ensure lasting peace across the country.”
According to him, the affected terrorist cells had been responsible for a series of violent attacks and the rustling of cattle in the region, prompting the swift intervention of the Air Component.
The statement further assured citizens of continued vigilance and intensified operations to root out all threats to national security.
