Argentina and Inter Miami icon, Lionel Messi, has revealed the goal he cherishes most in his illustrious career.

The 38-year-old football legend, who has netted over 800 goals for club and country, including spells with Argentina, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Miami, selected his memorable header against Manchester United in the 2009 UEFA Champions League final as his personal favorite.

“I had many goals that are perhaps even more beautiful and of enormous value, also because of their importance, but the header in the Champions League final against Manchester United was always my favorite,” Messi said.

That goal, which came as Barcelona’s second in their 2-0 triumph over the English side, is etched in football history.

Messi managed to rise above the formidable pairing of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic to steer his header beyond goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar.

The moment not only sealed a famous victory but also marked Messi’s first UEFA Champions League title with the Spanish giants, setting the tone for a legendary European run.
