Minister unveils ambitious plans for Nigeria’s housing market

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, has announced that the development of Nigeria’s housing market has the potential to unlock the country’s goal of achieving a $1 trillion economy.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Renewed Hope Estate in Akwa Ibom, Dangiwa revealed that the current administration has launched a comprehensive program to transform Nigeria into a hub of construction activity.

The Renewed Hope Cities and Estates program, launched by President Bola Tinubu, aims to provide affordable housing units across various states in the country.

The first phase of the program includes the development of estates in Kano, Katsina, Gombe, Yobe, Sokoto, and Abuja, with a total of 3,112 housing units, according to Daily Post.

The Renewed Hope Estate in Akwa Ibom, comprising 250 housing units, is designed to be affordable and flexible, with options for future expansion as homeowners’ income increases.

The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to making housing accessible to all Nigerians, driving economic growth, and achieving the targeted $1 trillion economy.
