AC Milan defender, Fikayo Tomori, has revealed that the Rossoneri are steadily adjusting to the tactical philosophy of new manager Max Allegri.

Speaking ahead of their preseason friendly against Arsenal in Singapore, Tomori admitted the squad is determined to put last season’s disappointment behind them and reclaim their place in Europe’s elite competition.

In an interview with Milan Reports, Tomori reflected on the previous campaign and the work being put in to ensure a stronger showing in the coming season.

“Last season obviously wasn’t a good one. We obviously want to do better, we’re working hard and preparing for next season. We’re very happy to be able to play matches here,” he said.

The England international acknowledged the changes under Allegri and emphasized the team’s commitment to adapting to the new demands.

“Every coach has his own ideas on how to defend, how to attack, how and when to press. We’re adapting to Allegri’s requests,” Tomori stated.

He also reiterated the team’s desire to return to the UEFA Champions League, a competition synonymous with Milan’s storied history.

“Last season was horrible. The feeling is different from last season, and we want to be ready to get good results. We want to return to the Champions League, a competition where Milan should always be.”

Looking ahead to their clash against the Gunners, Tomori, who is familiar with English football, expects a tough test but believes Milan are up for the challenge.

“I know English teams well; they’re tough to play against, and they’re a good team. But we want to do well in every match, preparing well for the game and for the upcoming season.

“We’re ready for the first test. We arrived last night with a lot of fans to welcome us. We’re pumped for this match.”
