Veteran Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has finally spoken out amid the intensifying feud involving herself, Regina Daniels, and Angela Okorie — a drama that has captivated fans and stirred controversy across social media.
Taking to her Instagram story on Tuesday night, Johnson had made a cryptic but assertive statement, writing: “O ti to ge. It’s time to say my piece. Everything I need to say, I will say it tomorrow. 12PM. Instagram.”
However, some minutes after 12 noon, the actress, rather than intervene in the ongoing feud, revealed she had become an ambassador for a Nigerian-based solar-powered refrigeration store, “Koolbuystore”.
Many had thought Mercy Johnson would make revealing statements that would either end or provoke further feud in the ongoing feud, however, she changed the attention to her new role, where she wrote on her Instagram story, “My new family @koolbuystore, @koolboksng”.
Her declaration comes on the heels of a heated exchange between actresses Regina Daniels and Angela Okorie, which erupted after Okorie held an Instagram Live session over the weekend.
During the session, Angela claimed she had forgiven Mercy Johnson for an undisclosed past incident and called on her to apologise to others she may have hurt.
Many interpreted the gesture as passive-aggressive rather than conciliatory. Regina Daniels, a known close friend of Mercy Johnson, took offence at the remarks and sprang to Johnson’s defence.
Daniels responded on social media, accusing Angela of using the forgiveness narrative as a way to stay relevant while dragging her friend’s name. Things escalated further when Okorie took a swipe at Regina’s marriage to billionaire businessman and politician, Ned Nwoko, citing the wide age gap between them.
Regina Daniels did not hold back in her rebuttal. In a bold Instagram post, she accused Okorie of previously chasing the same man she now criticises.
“He is certainly not your regular old man. He is everything your kind prays for but can’t attract. Don’t get me started to tell the world how you were chasing this same old man,” Regina wrote.
She also questioned Okorie’s standing in the entertainment industry, stating:
“Age? It’s just a number. What really counts is how you’ve lived, what you’ve built, and who you’ve become. The roads I’ve walked, the milestones I’ve hit with grace and not disgrace are places your bitterness will never take you.”
Angela Okorie, in turn, denied the allegation, declaring: “God forbid, I don’t do ancestors,” while continuing to mock Daniels’ marriage choice and defending her original stance on Mercy Johnson.
The feud, which began with a conversation about forgiveness and accountability, has now spiralled into one of the most public and personal celebrity confrontations in recent Nollywood history.
The trio — all major figures in the Nigerian film industry — have drawn significant attention, with fans split across camps and social media flooded with commentary.
