Man Utd’s Sancho reportedly ready to slash wages for Dortmund return

Manchester United forward, Jadon Sancho, is reportedly willing to take a substantial pay cut to engineer a return to Borussia Dortmund this summer, signaling his determination to revive his career in familiar territory.

The 25-year-old winger, who dazzled during his previous spell in the Bundesliga, has struggled to find consistent form since his high-profile switch to Manchester United in 2021.

His time at Old Trafford has been underwhelming, with just 12 goals and six assists across 82 appearances, a stark contrast to his prolific tally of 53 goals and 67 assists in 158 games for Dortmund.

According to German outlet BILD, as cited by Caught Offside, Sancho has expressed a strong desire to rejoin the German giants and is prepared to halve his wages from €16 million to €8 million per season to make the move possible.

Sources suggest the England international has already informed Dortmund’s top brass of his willingness to compromise financially in order to facilitate the transfer.

However, Dortmund still need to strike a deal with Manchester United, who are keen to recover a portion of the hefty fee they paid for Sancho three years ago.

Although he had a brief loan spell at Chelsea last season, where he played a role in their UEFA Europa Conference League triumph, Sancho remains out of favour at Old Trafford.

With United looking to reshape their squad, he is no longer seen as a key figure in the club’s future.

As the summer transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on whether the two clubs can come to terms and grant Sancho the fresh start he craves back in Germany.
