Man Utd deserve Champions League spot, not Europa – Amorim

Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim, has once again emphasized that the club belongs in the UEFA Champions League rather than settling for a place in the Europa League.

Despite gearing up for next Wednesday’s Europa League final clash against Tottenham, the Portuguese manager remains clear on where he believes the Red Devils should be competing.

With United on course for what could be their poorest-ever Premier League finish, lifting the Europa League trophy, potentially for the second time, might be the only way to salvage their season and secure Champions League qualification.

Determined to return the team to Europe’s elite competition and add another major trophy to their cabinet, Amorim underlined the importance of the Champions League for the club’s future.

“Personally for me, I think the Champions League is more important for everything, to prepare the next season,” he said.

“We are supposed to be in the Champions League; the Europa League here is not enough.

“This is the best way to get us to the top in a few years.”
