Ademola Lookman has unfollowed Atalanta and deleted all club-related posts from his social media pages, despite coach Ivan Juric’s claim that their recent touchline altercation had been settled.
The incident occurred during Atalanta’s Champions League win away to Olympique Marseille, when Lookman reacted angrily after being substituted in the second half.
Juric appeared displeased with the forward’s reaction, grabbing him by the arm and shouting something in his direction.
Lookman seemed ready to respond before being guided away to the bench by team staff.
“These things happen. You talk and exchange views, you open up, and the rapport becomes better than it was before. Ademola is a particular kind of guy. It’s all sorted, we just move on and shrug it off,” Juric said during Friday’s press conference when asked about the confrontation.
However, Lookman’s social media actions suggest otherwise. The Nigeria international unfollowed the club and wiped all Atalanta-related content from his Instagram account.
This is not the first time Lookman has taken such steps. Over the summer, he reportedly did the same after Atalanta refused to sanction his transfer to Inter Milan for less than €50 million.
The 27-year-old was said to have gone AWOL from pre-season training for weeks before returning once Inter abandoned the deal and no other offers materialized.
With tensions resurfacing, Lookman may once again push for a move when the transfer window reopens in January.
