Lookman makes Atalanta’s UCL squad amid transfer drama

Atalanta have confirmed their official squad list for this season’s UEFA Champions League, with Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman included despite heavy speculation over his future during the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old forward had been strongly linked with a move to Inter Milan, who were keen to bring him to the San Siro but reportedly pulled out after refusing to meet Atalanta’s valuation.

The transfer saga escalated after Lookman wiped all references to the club from his social media and allegedly went on strike.

Inter, however, were not alone in the chase. Reports suggested Turkish clubs also showed interest, while Bayern Munich submitted a late loan proposal that was quickly dismissed as insufficient.

According to Football Italia, Atalanta are now eager to mend fences with the Nigerian international, and his inclusion in the Champions League squad is seen as a step in that direction.

The squad list is missing only one significant name, Dutch wing-back Mitchel Bakker, who is sidelined by injury.

Lookman, meanwhile, is expected to feature for Nigeria later this month when the Super Eagles continue their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
