Premier League champions, Liverpool have reportedly accepted a substantial offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for striker Darwin Nunez, according to Sky Sports.
The deal is said to be worth an initial £46.2 million (€53 million), with performance-based add-ons potentially pushing the total to £56.6 million (€65 million).
However, Liverpool are still awaiting confirmation from Nunez himself, who has yet to agree to the move.
Sky in Italy adds that Al Hilal are willing to meet the Uruguayan international’s wage demands, which could help sway his decision.
AC Milan had also shown interest, but the Italian club were unable to compete financially with the Saudi offer.
Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 in a deal worth £64 million and has since registered 40 goals in 143 appearances across all competitions.
He was a key figure in Jurgen Klopp’s final season at the club, scoring 18 times. However, his output declined under new manager Arne Slot, with just seven goals last season, despite his memorable brace in stoppage time against Brentford in January that sealed a 2-0 win.
Should he make the switch to the Middle East, Nunez would follow a growing list of top European talents lured by the lucrative prospects of the Saudi Pro League.
