Liverpool have turned down a £58.6 million bid from Bayern Munich for Colombian forward, Luis Diaz, reaffirming their stance that the 28-year-old is not for sale.
Bayern made their approach earlier in July but were immediately met with resistance from the Anfield club, who reiterated on Tuesday that Diaz remains a crucial figure in new manager Arne Slot’s plans.
The Reds reportedly value Diaz at more than £87 million, reflecting his importance to the squad.
Diaz, whose contract runs until the summer of 2027, enjoyed a standout 2023/24 season, netting 22 goals across all competitions, 13 of which came in the Premier League, helping Liverpool storm to the title with a 10-point margin.
Interest in the Colombian winger is not new. Manchester City were keen last summer, while clubs from Saudi Arabia continue to monitor his situation closely.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are actively seeking a top-class striker to bolster their frontline. Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak has emerged as a priority target, with the Merseyside club reportedly making concrete steps toward a potential deal.
Other centre-forward options are also being considered as the Reds reshape their attack for the new season.
