Super Eagles forward, Terem Moffi, was back among the goals as OGC Nice secured a comfortable 3-1 win over Auxerre in their Ligue 1 clash at the Allianz Riviera on Saturday night.

The Nigerian international started the game on the bench but was introduced in the 73rd minute to replace Kevin Carlos.

Just three minutes after his introduction, Moffi made his presence felt by heading home Nice’s third goal of the evening, putting the result beyond doubt.

The strike was a significant moment for Moffi as it marked his first goal of the new season for Les Aiglons.

Having endured a frustrating spell on the sidelines last term due to a long-term injury, the 25-year-old is now gradually regaining sharpness and working his way back to full fitness.

His return to the scoresheet will come as a huge boost not only to his club but also to Nigeria, with the Super Eagles looking ahead to important fixtures later this year. Moffi’s aerial ability and physical presence remain vital assets whenever he is on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Auxerre had a Nigerian representative of their own in Gabriel Osho, who featured in the game but was unable to stop Nice from running out comfortable winners.
