The acting chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Abia State, Hon. Kelechi Apugo, has called for unity among aggrieved members of the party.

Apugo said that unity among members of the party would help in the transformation of Abia State.

In a chat with the Independent, he called on members of the party who may have left for whatever reason to return with the view to revitalizing the NNPP.

He described the leadership of the founder, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebolam, as visionary.

He added that the board of trustees led by Dr Temitope Aluko and the National Working Committee led by Dr Agbo Major is poised to make the party a destination point for Abia State.

According to Apugo, “Unity is our strength as a political party and we duly recognise this. We extended and still extend invitations to our aggrieved members and even others who understand the ideal of NNPP to come back and join us to transform Abia through this virile opposition and constructive criticism of those in power. To our members in particular who left for whatever reason, we call on them to return home to their party under the visionary leadership of our founder, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebolam and our dedicated board of trustees led by Dr Temitope Aluko and our National Working Committee led by Dr Agbo Major. We are poised to revitalise democratic ethos and to make NNPP a destination point for all Abians who seek democratic freedom.”
