The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje had lamented being abandoned by the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in an alleged leaked tape between him and Ibrahim Masari, a former vice Presidential candidate.

The governor’s anger was coming, following a meeting between Tinubu and the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso Kwankwaso.

Kwankwaso had met Tinubu in Paris, France, sometime last week, to have discussions on political alignment, in a four hours meeting.

Reports had earlier revealed that their four-hour meeting in France included the potential of Kwankwaso joining the incoming administration of Tinubu.

Earlier before the meeting between the two political bigwigs, there has been some uproar over the possibility of Kwankwaso allying with Tinubu, which some All Progressives Congress Chieftains have vented their voices against.

A Kano APC Chieftain, Abdullahi Kwamanda, had in a statement warned that Kwankwaso should not be allowed in or given any political appointment in the incoming administration.

According to him, if Kwankwaso is given an appointment against the wish and warnings of the party loyalists, the entire APC structures in the north will be disrupted.

“We in the North West do not welcome Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to our party APC. We do not accept the idea of Bola Tinubu giving him any appointment even as low as a messenger in our dear party. Should Tinubu ignore our outcry and appoint Kwankwaso, we are going to disrupt the entire APC in the north and withdraw our support for him,” Kwamanda had told reporters.

However, in the leaked audio tape, Ganduje could be heard complaining about an alleged unpleasant treatment from Tinubu, noting that his meeting with Kwankwaso, may mean that they have been abandoned.

Gaduje, who started the conversation, stated that the meeting between Tinubu and Kwankwaso has become the talk of the town in Kano.

He revealed that even though he had been informed of the possibility of such a meeting by Masari, he couldn’t have done anything about it.

“But at that time, you could have spoken with him (Tinubu). You can (sic) call him and talk to him,” Masari said.

However, the governor said, “What could I have told him? Now he (Tinubu) is seeing Kwankwaso as an alternative to us? No problem. Because we don’t have a government? And it’s even because of him (Tinubu) we lost the government in any way.

“Even if he will see him (Kwankwaso), he ought to have called us too. Or don’t you understand, even if symbolically?”

Meanwhile, Masari who is Tinubu’s ally, was also heard calming him down, telling him to hold on until he meets Tinubu in Abuja.

“And all these things are from God. And the calculation that he is doing is not even accurate… And this man, how did he end up with Jonathan?” Ganduje said.
