The Lagos State Government has shut down a property situated at 32 Ogunkoya Street in the Ikosi-Ketu area, after confirmed reports of illegal waste disposal on the premises.
Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, revealed the development via his official handle on X, stating that the state’s enforcement team acted swiftly upon receiving complaints from concerned residents.
According to Wahab, officials inspected the property on Monday evening, verified the environmental violation, and immediately sealed the site in response.
He reiterated that the government remains firm in its stance against actions that harm the environment.
Wahab further disclosed that surveillance and enforcement activities are being ramped up across communities to ensure residents and businesses adhere to environmental regulations.
“This should serve as a clear warning, Lagos will not condone environmental sabotage,” the enforcement team declared, assuring Lagosians that monitoring operations remain active round-the-clock in all neighborhoods.
