Kwara gov dissolves appointments in cabinet reshuffle

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a cabinet reshuffle that has led to the removal of all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, as well as the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary.

The decision was announced on Monday in a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Agboola.

According to the statement, the exercise is part of a minor reorganisation of the administration aimed at expanding opportunities for more members of the ruling party while injecting fresh energy into governance.
“The governor has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle involving all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants.

The exercise also affects the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary,” Agboola said.
He explained that the reorganisation is intended to broaden participation in government and strengthen the administration’s service delivery.

Agboola added that Governor AbdulRazaq expressed appreciation to the affected officials for their contributions to the development of the state during their time in office.

“The governor thanks the affected appointees for their dedication and service to Kwara State and wishes them success in their future endeavours,” the statement added.

The governor also directed all affected officials to return government property in their possession by handing them over to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

The latest reshuffle is expected to pave the way for new appointments as the administration seeks to reconstitute parts of its team and widen political inclusion within the government.
