Kerosene-laden tanker falls in Oyo

A kerosene-laden tanker reportedly lost control and toppled over in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, causing panic in the area.

The incident occurred on Friday around the Taki Roundabout axis of the town.

Confirming the development, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, revealed that the tanker was transporting 45,000 litres of kerosene.

“On getting to the scene of the incident, we met a trailer tanker registration number KMC 127 ZQ Kano with the 45,000 capacity liters of kerosene, lost control and fell on an open road.

“We promptly swung into action by carpeting the areas with chemical foam compound and saves properties worth millions of naira.

“No casualty was recorded and were able to prevent it from catching fire,” he said.

Thanks to the swift intervention of the fire service, a potential disaster was averted and nearby properties were protected from damage.
