Super Eagles striker, Ademola Lookman, is set to take part in his first training session under Atalanta’s new manager, Ivan Juric, on Friday (today).
The Nigerian forward only just returned to Bergamo on Thursday after completing international duty with the Super Eagles.
Reports from Gazetta confirm that Atalanta are preparing to welcome him back into the squad setup.
“La Dea told the winger to train separately after tried to force a move to Inter Milan.”
Despite the transfer saga, the Serie A side are said to have no plans to sanction the 27-year-old, instead choosing to gradually reintegrate him into the team.
Lookman recently featured in Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, marking his first two competitive outings of the 2025–26 campaign.
Atalanta face Lecce in Serie A action on Sunday as Juric’s men chase their first victory of the season.
The Nigerian forward had earlier been left out of Atalanta’s matchday squad as tensions from his transfer saga reached a boiling point.
His absence followed weeks of stalled talks, unsuccessful negotiations, and a widening fallout between him and the club’s hierarchy.
Earlier in the summer, Inter Milan tabled a €45m offer for the Super Eagles attacker, but Atalanta turned it down.
In response, a frustrated Lookman handed in a formal transfer request and issued a statement accusing the club of reneging on promises while subjecting him to unfair professional and personal treatment.
