The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the online accreditation of journalists and media organisations ahead of the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Commission’s Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, INEC announced that the accreditation portal would be accessible from September 1 to October 24, 2025.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced online accreditation for journalists and media organisations intending to cover the Anambra State governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday, 8th November, 2025,” Oriaran-Anthony stated.
She explained that interested media houses must apply through the official accreditation platform at https://imap.inecnigeria.org.
According to her, the application window will automatically close by midnight on October 24, stressing that no late entries would be accepted.
“Late submission shall not be entertained as the portal will automatically shut down at 12:00 am (midnight) on Friday, 24th October, 2025,” she added.
INEC further advised media organisations to contact the Commission for enquiries via 07088844564 or 08032861058.
The Anambra governorship election is expected to be a major political event, drawing wide coverage from national and international media.
