The Ibom Air passenger recently freed by an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, Comfort Emmanson, has spoken publicly for the first time since regaining her freedom from Kirikiri Prison.

Taking to her Instagram page on Wednesday, Emmanson expressed deep gratitude to her friends, supporters, and well-wishers for their prayers and love during her time in custody.

She disclosed that she is still grappling with the physical and emotional toll of her ordeal.

“Thank you so much for all the Prayers, Love, and support, I’ve been released from the Prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event. Thank you so much my Lovely Friends and Supporters. I really appreciate y’all from the button of my heart. God bless y’all. THANK YOU MY GREAT GOD!!!”

Her statement came just hours after the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba struck out the five-count charge against her, which had accused her of causing a disturbance aboard an Ibom Air flight, assaulting a crew member, and acting in a manner capable of breaching public order.

The case was dropped after both the complainant and the airline informed the court they no longer wished to pursue it.

Consequently, Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami ordered her discharge.
