Liverpool forward, Hugo Ekitike, has expressed confidence in his ability to challenge Alexander Isak for a starting spot at Anfield.
Isak, who joined the Reds from Newcastle United on deadline day, now forms part of Arne Slot’s attacking lineup alongside summer signing Ekitike.
Despite the new addition, the France international insists he isn’t concerned about competition.
“In top clubs, you expect to compete with top players, and Isak is certainly one of them,” Ekitike told TribalFootball. “His arrival is exciting. It will be tough, but I’m ready to work hard and give my best on the pitch.”
Reflecting on his adjustment to life at Liverpool after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt, Ekitike added, “Moving here has changed my life. There’s more attention and scrutiny, but I see it positively. This is the level I wanted to reach. At this standard, you need to prove you belong and keep performing, which is exactly what I aim to do.”
