Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has urged Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen to consider a lucrative switch to the Saudi Pro League.
This comes amid uncertainty surrounding Osimhen’s future after Napoli reportedly rejected a €75 million bid from Turkish side Galatasaray last week.
Osimhen, who has netted an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances while on loan at the Turkish club, has played a crucial role in their recent successes.
His stellar form has earned him widespread admiration from fans, and Galatasaray remains hopeful of securing his permanent stay.
But in a recent conversation with Echo Room, Ighalo advised the 26-year-old to prioritize financial gains by accepting an offer from Saudi Arabia.
“My advice to Victor Osimhen is to go to Saudi Arabia for two years to make money. Then he should come back to Europe,” Ighalo told the Echo Room.
“I went to China to play for three years, then I went back to Europe to play for Manchester United. All odds were stacked against me then, I was 30 years old at the time.
“Victor Osimhen is 26 years old. In two years, he will be 28. He can still play in Europe for five years if he wants.”
Ighalo, who made a similar career move by joining the Chinese Super League before returning to play for Manchester United, believes Osimhen has time on his side and can still have a solid run in Europe after a financially rewarding stint in the Middle East.
