Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has shed light on how the Nigerian team plans to approach their upcoming international friendly against Russia, scheduled to take place in Moscow on Friday evening.
Speaking during a press briefing organized by the Russian Football Union on Thursday, the experienced defender emphasized that the Super Eagles would implement a blend of tactics against their hosts.
“I don’t know how much I can reveal our game plan, because the head coach is here,” Troost-Ekong stated.
“Tomorrow we will try to combine different styles – we have an understanding of how to act.
“We have been working with the coach only since the beginning of the year, and this match is a good chance to make our team stronger and continue progressing.
“There are new players in the squad – this is a great opportunity for them to show how they meet the expectations of the coaching staff.”
The Super Eagles head into the clash following a dramatic 2-2 draw against Jamaica last Sunday in the 2025 Unity Cup.
The match ended in a penalty shoot-out, with Eric Chelle’s men emerging victorious 5-4.
