Home-based S’Eagles arrive in Zanzibar for CHAN final preparations

The home-based Super Eagles have touched down in Zanzibar as they gear up for the final leg of their training ahead of the 2024 African Nations Championship.

The squad,comprising players, technical crew, and backroom staff, left Nigeria on Thursday and arrived in Zanzibar on Friday to commence the final phase of their build-up to the continental tournament.

They are currently lodged at a training facility arranged by the Nigeria Football Federation, where they will continue preparations before relocating to their official tournament base on the eve of the competition.

Eric Chelle’s side has been drawn into Group D alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo.

Nigeria will begin their CHAN campaign against Senegal on Tuesday, August 7, with the match scheduled to take place at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar.

Their second group fixture will see them take on Sudan at the same venue on Tuesday, August 12.

The final group match for the home-based Eagles will be against Congo on Tuesday, August 19, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The 2024 CHAN tournament will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, and will run from Saturday, August 2, to Saturday, August 30.
