A renowned Hollywood actor, Richard Treat Williams, 71, was reportedly killed in a motorcycle crash in Dorset, Vermont on Monday.

His longtime agent, Barry McPherson, broke the news on Monday to Hollywood reporters.

The actor passed on in an aftermath of a car that turned into Williams on Route 30.

The report has it that only the actor was hurt in the crash and was airlifted for immediate medical attention in Ticonderoga, New York.

He was, however, confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.

Williams came to stardom in his role in Everwood when he played a neurosurgeon who moved his family from New York City to Colorado.

He had also featured in the 1979 movie, Hair.

He appeared in all four seasons and was nominated for SAG Awards in 2002 and 2003 for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series.

He will be missed by his wife, actress Pam Van Sant, and their two children, Gille and Ellie, aside from his colleagues in the entertainment industry and fans.
