Former Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, has opened up about the challenges of working under Antonio Conte during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Conte’s two-year tenure as Chelsea’s head coach brought silverware, including a Premier League title and an FA Cup.

However, Hazard revealed that the Italian’s strict and relentless training routines often left him feeling frustrated and angry.

Speaking in an interview with the YouTube channel ‘Zack,’ Hazard described the physical intensity of Conte’s methods.

“When Antonio Conte arrived at Chelsea, it was tough. In the first training sessions, physically, we suffered a lot.

“In the summer we went to Los Angeles. It was hot. We trained morning and afternoon… at the beginning of the season we lost a match against Arsenal. Then everything changed. We went to five at the back. (N’Golo) Kanté became devastating in midfield.

“The training sessions were devastating, but we arrived in the best condition for the matches: that’s why we won the championship.”

Despite the hardship in training, Hazard credited Conte’s approach for preparing the team physically and mentally to secure the title.
