Havertz ruled out of Germany, Slovenia W’Cup qualifiers

Germany’s national team director, Rudi Völler, has confirmed that Arsenal star, Kai Havertz will play no part in their upcoming World Cup qualifying fixtures against Slovenia and Northern Ireland in September.

Havertz has been out of action since sustaining a knee injury in Arsenal’s 1-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United earlier this month.

The forward was also missing from the squad that defeated Leeds United at the weekend.

“He definitely won’t be available. He has a knee problem, and at the moment we’re unsure how things will progress — whether surgery will be necessary or if conservative treatment will be enough,” Völler said on Monday at a media event in Germany.

Arsenal’s medical team is continuing to monitor the injury, with more tests expected in the coming days to determine the best course of action.

The 25-year-old’s most recent outing for the German national team came in November 2024, when he featured in a 1-1 draw against Hungary.
