Three members of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, popularly known as Deeper Life Bible Church, have been reportedly kidnapped in the Ogbese community, located in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
According to The PUNCH, the incident occurred on Monday evening as the victims were returning home from a Bible study session held in the Kasemola area of the community.
Confirming the development, a church member who spoke on condition of anonymity said the abduction had thrown the congregation into distress.
“We were just returning from Bible study when we heard the terrible news. Three of our brethren were taken by gunmen near Kasemola. It’s devastating,” the source said.
In response to the incident, the church has reportedly mobilised its prayer warriors to intercede for the safe return of the abducted members.
“We are praying fervently for their release. Our leaders have also informed security operatives about the situation,” the source added.
Spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the abduction. She said law enforcement agents, in collaboration with the state’s Amotekun Corps, have launched a manhunt for the abductors.
“Our officers are already combing the surrounding forests to rescue the victims. We are committed to ensuring their safe return,” she stated.
