In what he described as one of the most bizarre and hilarious moments of his ministry, renowned gospel minister, Peter Linus, popularly known as ‘Praise In This Age’ or Pitasings, narrowly escaped having his phone stolen during a worship session.

The incident occurred during one of his recent ministrations, as congregants were lost in deep worship and praise.

Unknown to many, a yet-to-be-identified individual made an attempt to steal Pita’s phone amidst the spiritual atmosphere.

Sharing the experience on social media, the gospel singer recounted the shocking moment with a mix of humour and relief.

“While the people of God were worshiping, a son of perdition was trying to steal my phone,” he wrote, clearly amused by the incident. “But as a child of God, I was aware of my surroundings. We watch and praise.”

A video accompanying the post shows a lively worship session with hands lifted and voices raised in praise, completely unaware of the drama unfolding in their midst.

The minister tagged a colleague, @nhn_couture, asking if they recalled the moment.

He added that the attempted theft happened just before he stepped out to lead another session outside the main auditorium.

Speaking later to a member of his team, who asked not to be named, they confirmed the incident took place during a conference held at a well-known worship center in Lagos.

“Honestly, we were all just focused on the worship. It wasn’t until afterward that we realized someone had attempted to snatch his phone. Thank God he noticed on time.”

Pita concluded his post with a lighthearted remark, calling the incident “one of the most hilarious moments” of his ministry so far.

Despite the brief distraction, the worship event went on successfully, with many attendees describing it as a powerful and spirit-filled experience.

Security at the venue has since been reviewed to prevent future occurrences.
