Award-winning gospel singer, Marvin Sapp, has entered a new phase of his music career after signing a distribution agreement with Roc Nation Distribution ahead of the release of his forthcoming album, Restoration.
The partnership, announced by Billboard on Tuesday, precedes the launch of Restoration, Sapp’s ninth live album and 17th studio project overall.
The deal was facilitated by TITLE 9 and Timeless Music Group’s Stanley Brown, who previously collaborated with Sapp as a writer and producer on his 1999 album Nothing Else Matters, which peaked at No. 6 on the Top Gospel Albums chart.
“More than thirty years into my journey as an artist, every partnership I enter must be rooted in purpose, shared vision and mutual respect,” Sapp tells Billboard. “While Roc Nation Distribution is an undeniable force in the music industry, what truly stood out was the openness and collaborative spirit of their leadership team. I’m honored to partner with them and look forward to creating something impactful together as I step into this next chapter of my career.”
The album’s lead single, “He’s Not Finished,” is scheduled for release on August 21.
The track was co-written by Sapp and Stan Jones, who recently received recognition at the 2026 BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards for his work on Mississippi Mass Choir’s Gospel Airplay chart-topper, Only One Way Home.
Although an official release date for Restoration has not yet been announced, the album is expected to arrive in the autumn of 2026. Sapp worked on the project alongside longtime music director Curtis Lindsey, with additional songwriting contributions from Jones and Gus Lacy.
The upcoming album marks Sapp’s first collection of original music since releasing the If I Were An R&B Singer EP in 2025, a Valentine’s Day project he described as a one-time release.
“Marvin Sapp is a talented, award-winning artist whose impact spans generations,” Roc Nation Distribution president Krystian Santini says. “We are excited to work with Marvin and his team, welcome them to the Roc Nation Distribution family, and look forward to many more years and projects together.”
“He’s Not Finished” will become only the fourth gospel or inspirational single distributed through Roc Nation Distribution. Meanwhile, Restoration will stand as the company’s first full-length gospel album, signalling a stronger commitment to expanding its footprint in the gospel music industry.
“Timeless Music Group and TITLE 9 helped bring Roc Nation its first Grammy nomination in the gospel genre with the success of [2023’s Stanley Brown-led] ‘God Is Good,’ opening the door to build something meaningful in this space,” says Brown, Timeless Music Group’s producer and CEO.
“That momentum led us to partner with legendary artists like Marvin Sapp, who are vital to the gospel music genre and to culture overall,” he continues. “Our vision is to establish Roc Nation’s presence in the gospel/Inspirational space with the highest level of credibility, excellence, and cultural impact. Together, TMG, TITLE 9, and Roc Nation are building what we believe is the future of the genre, and we are honored to have Marvin Sapp on this journey.”
Over a career spanning more than three decades, Sapp has recorded remarkable success on the gospel charts, earning 14 top-10 Gospel Albums, including five No. 1 releases.
His signature hit, Never Would Have Made It, became one of the few gospel crossover successes of the late 2000s, reaching No. 82 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song, alongside Praise Him In Advance, features on Thirsty, which remains Sapp’s longest-charting album on the Billboard 200, spending 86 weeks on the chart.
He has also secured two top-10 entries on the all-genre Billboard 200 with Here I Am, which peaked at No. 2 in 2010, and I Win, which reached No. 9 in 2012.
