Head coach, Kim Lars Björkegren, has named a strong 24-player squad to represent Ghana at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, set to take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025.
The squad features a balanced mix of veterans and emerging talents, as the Black Queens gear up for a challenging Group C campaign against defending champions South Africa, as well as Mali and Tanzania.
In goal, the trio of Kerrie McCarthy, Cynthia Konlan Findib, and Afi Amenyeku will be tasked with ensuring solidity at the back.
The defence line includes experienced campaigners like Ernestina Abambila, Susan Ama Duah, and Portia Boakye, who are expected to bring composure and leadership to the back four.
Midfield creativity will be driven by the likes of Evelyn Badu, Grace Asantewaa, and Jennifer Cudjoe, players known for their vision and ability to control the rhythm of the game.
Leading the charge in attack are Wasima Mohammed, Sherifatu Sumaila, and Alice Kusi, strikers with a proven eye for goal and the ability to trouble any defence on the continent.
With a solid mix of skill, experience, and determination, the Black Queens are setting their sights on making a deep run in this year’s tournament.
