Former Governor of Ogun State and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, was reportedly prevented from gaining access to the All Progressives Congress stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The meeting, which took place at Adeola Odutola Hall, was an emergency APC Ogun East caucus gathering that brought together party stakeholders from across the senatorial district.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Daniel was seen speaking from his white campaign bus branded with the OGD/PBAT Movement after being denied entry into the venue.
Expressing his displeasure, the former governor said, “We are here for our Ogun East APC caucus meeting, but surprisingly, we have been barred; we are told that we can’t enter, but let it be said that whatever they do here today is null and void.”
The invitation for the meeting, issued by the party leadership in Ijebu Ode, reportedly extended to a wide range of stakeholders, including deputy governors, serving and former local government chairmen, councillors, as well as serving and past members of both the Ogun State House of Assembly and the National Assembly.
As of the time of filing this report, there had been no official clarification from the APC leadership in Ogun East on why Daniel was allegedly denied access to the meeting.
