Just days after stepping down as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.

According to Vanguard, the appointment was officially announced on Tuesday during the inauguration of newly constituted FAAN board members at an event held in Abuja.

Though details surrounding the appointment remain limited, the development signals Ganduje’s continued influence in federal affairs despite his recent resignation from party leadership.

An official at the event, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the appointment and stated that the decision reflects confidence in Ganduje’s administrative experience.

“The appointment is a strategic one. Dr. Ganduje brings decades of experience in governance and public service, which the aviation sector can benefit from,” the source said.

The Federal Government has yet to issue a detailed statement on the specific duties or tenure of the new board, but insiders suggest the new board will play a pivotal role in reshaping FAAN’s operations and oversight mechanisms.

Ganduje, a two-term former governor of Kano State, is expected to work closely with stakeholders to address critical issues facing the aviation industry, including infrastructure upgrades and service delivery.
